Court: Teaching Credential Required To Home School

LOS ANGELES (CBS13/AP) -- California parents without teaching
credentials cannot legally home school their children, according to a
recent state appellate court ruling.

"Parents do not have a constitutional right to home school their
children," Justice H. Walter Croskey wrote in a Feb. 28 opinion for
the 2nd District Court of Appeal.

Noncompliance could lead to criminal complaints against the
parents, Croskey said.

They didn't happen to say where the extra money to build and outfit the 160 additional schools at (being generous) $30M each, did they? I mean, that's only a piddling $4.8B needed... Pocket change, right? Don't forget the 4,000 (40 students per class) additional teachers at (again, being generous) $40,000/yr which tacks on another $160M/yr in expenses. That doesn't include all the other customary ongoing expenses.

Just as a comparison number, Philadelphia spends $11,490 per student. Using the same figure for the additional 160,000 students they want to indoctrinate totals $459.6M in additional costs, increasing every year, of course.
