I'm not arguing that nothing is going wrong and/or that something
should be done...this is the knee-jerk reaction of so many....if one
person says, look, like it or not, there are highly qualified people
that disagree with some of the IPCC's conclusions, people
automatically think that person is being bought off by "big oil" or
hates the environment or something stupid like that.

And that's what's driving me nuts about this thread. It's operating by a
list of logical fallacies that are a mile long. Nobody here seems to be
talking about the actual data. I haven't seen a single citation for the
original (usually peer-reviewed) research. Only articles about it. Yet
many of the posters in this thread think they're offering "evidence".

Whenever I read an article written about a recent paper in my field (which
isn't this one), I always have to laugh. It's usually chock full of errors,
misinterpretations, taking the authors' speculation as fact, and so forth.
I would never dream of pointing to an article written by a "science
journalist" (or worse, a political journalist posing as a science
journalist!) as some sort of authoritative document. And I'd bet that most
of you, in your respective fields, say the same thing when a journalist
tries to do the same.

This thread would be much more interesting if people would argue the point
instead of pointing at web sites. Follow mr dude's example. [I can't
believe I just said that...]
