1. I never heard og a van full of tapes. Even if true, irrelevent. They
were fined for the Jets game. Period.

True, but there were several other tapes..that many sportspeople were
upset
at the NFL for destroying without revealing the contents

Those "sportspeople" don't have any right to see them. It's like me
complaining that Angelina Jolie didn't show me her underwear. It's not my
right to see her underwear.

2. From what I understand, the rule was enforced at the start of the 2006
season to prevent in-game taping. You can still do it before and after
the game.

AFAIK, it was always illegal, and the 2006 is the date the NFL sent a
reminder letter to all the teams due to some complaints about belicheat.

As far as you know? You just made that up, so I guess that's accurate.

It was illegal when the Pats were caught and that's all that's
important.
But the whiney FANATICS just can't admit the Pats were wrong and they
are acting like kids.

"Much ado about nothing" Yes it was a rule violation. Yes it
deserved to be punished. Defending it is silly. Saying the punishment
was extreme, would be accurate. Saying it had an effect on any of the
Pats wins is stupider than defending it.
It's time to move on.
