Let me provide an example to show where your logic fails.
Fact: Educated people tend to have indoor plumbing. Fact: Educated
people tend to do well on standardized tests. Conclusion: The advent
of indoor plumbing has enabled people to do well on standardized
tests.
I guess it's possible that the conclusion is valid. But it becomes a
little difficult to show causality based strictly on the information
above.
Let me show you an easy causality. If nobody owned a gun, the there
would be no need for studies.
