Vinny WAS a colossal bust of a #1 pick until he supplanted Vinny inSteve, you find no correlation that Vinny's career took a turn for the
Cleveland. He had a couple good years with Cleveland/Baltimore, and a
couple good ones in New York. I think he has numbers based on longevity.
While he had his good years, I think it's safe to say he never lived up to
his potential. Oftentimes we hear with Vinny "but Tampa sucked." I get
that, but you don't get called Interceptaverde for nothing.
Bledsoe on the otherhand did live up to his billing as a #1 QB. He set
all sorts of passing records, several playoff births and division titles,
one Super Bowl (and partial credit for 2001, he was on the field most of
the game bottom line). The jury is out on Romo, but suffice to say,
Losman hasn't exactly shown he was the answer in Buffalo either.
I think Bledsoe had alot of gaudy numbers.....but seemed to have lost it
fast.......maybe Vinny was a late bloomer--he was certainly better late in
the career. One difference--for whatever the reason, I think Bledsoe
knows it's time to walk away. The question "does Vinny have any self
resepct/dignity/pride" has gone through my mind because of how he came
back in 2005 and 2006. No way he needs the money.
In the end, my answer to your question is Bledsoe, because I feel he did
accomplish more, and I don't feel New England feels he was a bust at #1.
Steve
better once he was out of Tampa?

I heard an interesting argument on 1050 ESPN between Mike and Mike. Who
had a better career as a QB. Vinny or Drew.
