You really believe that a SEVENTH round pick -- the smallest trade
value the Pats could offer -- was a coup for the Dolphins? They tried
to make something out of a losing situation -- and they didn't make
much. Giving up the 219th pick was a steal for the Pats. The Pats got
an RFA on their terms, without having to outbid the Dolphins. Clearly,
you don't understand the Dolphins' cap situation before the trade
transpired: the Pats had roughly three times the head room. The
Dolphins were in no position to match any offer for Welker, they just
released a horde of starters.

So which story was all messed up,
yours or when kraft was portrayed in the Boston media as being a stand
up guy fixing, what was by most standards, an abuse of a loophole?

What abuse? Do you hear the Dolphins crying foul? No offer sheet was
made -- it was a trade. You are saying that the Pats scammed the
Fish, forced their hand, and they are keeping mum about it because of
a lowly 7th round pick? Mr. Irrelevant? The 28th pick, #219 (out of
223), five from the end. Absolutely brilliant.
