What Danny Boy can't grasp is that *all* the money a team pays to players counts against the cap (with one, very small exception), and *only* the money a team actually pays to players counts against the cap. Therefore, if a team is consistently spending up to the cap, they're spending as much as any team can.

He simply doesn't understand that reports of unofficial "payroll" numbers doesn't take into consideration how bonus money hits the cap over the life of a contract. Danny Boy has taken Danny Snyder's BS hook, line, and sinker. What a Guppy.
