Re: X-Men, The Last Stand

Why was the movie so short? Another 15 minutes could have added a lot.

At least, a half an hour would have been better. I didn't even care at the climax if anyone lived
or died.

The Jean Grey storyline didn't bother me. She didn't destroy everything
because the Phoenix didn't have complete control, Jean was still fighting
it - this struggle was shown several times.

Maybe I'm being too picky but they made sure we knew she was a "Class 5" mutant. What does that
exactly mean? Shoot, if Magneto can move bridges and Phoenix is supposedly even MORE powerful, she
theoretically could have disintegrated the entire island. And why didn't Magneto rip the building
apart? Its full of rebar reinforcement, shrapnel for all humans. And why wasn't the facility a
secret? It screamed..."Hey mutant badies! We make the stuff right here!". I know I shouldn't look
that deep into a bad movie but I can't help it. All I want to do is pick it apart.

I read reviews about the movie before I saw it and many of them were lauding
Kelsey Grammar. When I left the theater I thought "based on what?" You are
dead-on with the Beast...a big, blue disappointment.

I don't blame Frasier. He was OK. Writing, direction, and editing was the problem. Can you tell I
hated it? :-)

If they are Centennials maybe they only show up once every 100 years? :)
But you are right, the Sentinels were a huge part of the story and shouldn't
have been written out.

Whoops...:-) My bad.

I don't think that was entirely out of character for Magneto. His disdain
for humans overrides his compassion for mutants.

Maybe...but I think they did it to move the "plot" along. No need for any depth, all they wanted was
explosions and kung-fu fighting. I should have went in with lower expectations.
