<<They can ask for whatever they like, or cut him and let the Patriots do
what they are most loath to do -- get into a bidding war. The Pats are
over a barrel. A smarter negotiator would have opened a dialogue with
them before their hand was empty. A trade is now unlikely and costly.
The Bills have no incentive to deal with the Pats now that they have
seen their hand. They would sooner let him walk than trade him to a
division rival to begin with, and the cost of Moulds went up when the
Pats depth chart got thin. The Pats are negotiating from a position of
weakness.>>
Moulds is a pipe dream at this point anyway. He's drawing a lot of interest
because the FA market is so weak this year for WR (again, this is why the
Givens deal shouldn't be looked at as too exorbitant). According to the
Bills, eight teams have offered inquiries.
Reiss is now speculating that the Pats do with Seymour what the Vikes did
with Winfield and absorb the whole signing bonus in year one by making it
salary. This would be a blunder of epic proportions.
