Since they used their #1 pick on a great franchise quarterback..."He's tall,
got a good arm..." No, not Drew - Jim Plunkett! What was that, like 72 I
think? I was 12 or so.

All-time for "heart" (i.e. running naked bootlegs and getting thoroughly
beat up): Steve Grogan. Close second: Mosi Tatupu. Of today's players,
gotta be Troy. As best ever - Brady for what he's done so far, carerr-wise:
Big John Hannah...

Off-field: Booking the no-show concert tour stop with Michael Jackson that
lead to Billy Sullivan going bankrupt...without Jacko we'd never have the 3
Lombardi's, let alone stadium seats with backs and arms!

On field: The final game-winning drive of the Patriot-Ram's Superbowl -
especially after John Madden said they should take a knee and go to O.T.

> 4) Have you ever been to any games?
Oh yea, in good times and in very, very bad. There was a period in the 80's
where we'd actually go and sit in the stadium wearing paper bags over our
heads ("The Unknown Fan" was a rip-off of a comedy routine called "The
Unknown Comic". Was that from Sat. Nite Live?)

> 5) Are you one of their biggest fans?
One of the long-suffering and dedicated maybe, but I've never worn warpaint
or anything. Go back to when I was 8 or so, tho, in 1960s. Wen I was a
kid, my dad absolutely hated anything to do with the AFL. Only football we
ever watched were Giants games - kind of typical for this area in the 60's.
When I started following and listening to (not watching, cuz they were never
on TV) the Boston Patriots, I was the *** of his jokes for years. Guess
who, at 83 is now a rabid Pats fan??? Dear ole' Dad! haha

> 6) How big are the stadiums?
They started playing in small high-school stadium, moved to Harvard
University, even played some games in Fenway Park if I remember. Were lost
children until they got a very basic stadium built in the early 70's that
held around 65,000. New stadium is gorgeous with a capacity somewhere
around 68,000.

> "snow" thing is exotic for him)
Oh yea, been there in snow - that's actually not bad to sit in. Worst
conditions I've ever sat through: Fog in a Patriots-Jets game around 1997
that was so bad couldn't see the field from halfway up the stands, and cold
in the Titans playoff game at Foxboro: about 4degrees Farenheit and windy.

> 8) Have you been to all of the stadiums?
All of the NFL stadiums? No, both of the NE Patriots home stadiums? Yes.
All of the original Boston Patriots roving home fields, no.

> 9) How do you celebrate their victories?
Now, with a contented smile. The first superbowl win, with fireworks. And
a few years before that, with shock and surprise.

> 10) Do you tailgate when you go to the games?
Yup, we have an RV and setup about 3 1/2 hours before the game. Morning
games the menu is breakfast food and anything else you can think of,
afternoon and evening games just drop the bacon and eggs: something on the
grill or lobsters boiling on the camp stove.

You're welcome. Be sure to share the final report with the group!
