Why is everyone so disrespectful to this great player? He is not a
great athlete but he is a very skilled basketball player and he has a
lot of class and basketball intelligence. If he had done that against
anyone but the Celtics it would have made me very happy. As it is,
rueful admiration is how I feel about it.
But it's not just Fisher they are disrespecting!!
After all, Fisher is the starting point guard for Phil Jackson
Recently...what does he have to beat out of a job? Anyone that would
Duh -- if he sucks so bad why haven't they gotten someone better?
Because they are hate to to sign veteran free agent talent? Because
they are afraid to move up in the draft? Because they don't know how
to make trades with other teams??? The Lakers organization has twice
built championship teams with Derek Fisher as their starting point
This year they could have signed Iverson and didn't -- why not??
Earlier three-peat years
99-00 games started 22
Jerry Sloan and Don Nelson),
Nelson started fish over Baron Davis when he was healthy and Sloan
played him as starting PG? no.
GSW 04-05 Fisher games started 32
Davis played 28 games after he was traded there started 19
GSW 05-06 Fisher started 36
Davis 54 games played started 48
Pfffft. Your little tiny point is that he only "started" one third of
the games for Nelson?? He was technically a starter, so whatever, this
UTH 06-07 Fisher started 61 games out of 82 played, at SG.
Deron Williams stated 80 games.
Hahahaha, here your point is that he was the starting SG not PG???
You've got to be kidding me. Bush leagues Laurel.
Come to think of it, perhaps the real secret to why Jackson is a
better coach than Nelson or Sloan is that he knew enough to keep Fish
as his starting PG!!
You can nibble at the technicalities all you want -- I was hoping for
a meal, so I'm throwing you back.
There is only one reasonable explanation [for Fisher's career] -- all
the other things he
brings to the table OUTWEIGH his physical limitations in the eyes of
his coaches, team mates and gms. Anyone who has a theory that he is
shitty 95% of the time and comes through 5% cannot rationally explain
his career without disrespecting the opinion of all the aformentioned
14 years + 4 rings = SCOREBOARD
