Yes, I was around. Each era of basketball changes.
Expansion dilutes the talent. Players don't have to be
loyal to teams anymore and don't stay in college long
enough to gain experience and fundamentals. But this is a
very good Laker team, offensively anyway. Sure I'd like to
wake up and see Magic running a fast break again or Wilt
step to the line (or should I say a few feet behind the
line) and take an underhand free throw, or Jerry doing a
post game interview explaining to Chick why he ran the game
clock down to 30 seconds so the Lakers could get a 2 for 1,
or Big Game James extending his arm taking off for a dunk.
But that ain't gonna happen.There's two teams left playing
now. Let's enjoy what we have.



Well put David!!
The talent of the personal on the current Laker team is based
upon the current talent available in the NBA today. Not on the
talent that was available 5 or 10 or 20 years ago. When one
compares the quality of players on this Laker team to the
quality of players throughout the NBA currently, the Lakers
can hold their own quite well. I think the Lakers will win the
championship because the team plays better as a unit then any
other team in the league. It's like the old saying... one guy
can not win a championship by himself. It is a team effort.
