1) The current financial crisis has nothing at all to do with
George W. Bush, his policies, the 6 years the republicans
controlled congress, their laissez-faire, let the markets do
whatever they want, get the government out of the way attitudes.
No, the current crisis is entire because of a 30 year old law
passed when Jimmy Carter was president. The CRA encouraged banks
to sell mortgages to lower income families in the inner cities.
Thing is this: the CRA regulates banks and only 19% of mortgages
at banks are "subprime." Compare that to 45% of mortgages at
investment and mortgage companies that are "subprime". But you
know, who needs facts, right? 2) The economic mess of the late
70s was 100% Jimmy Carter's fault even though he was a one term
president who took office IN THE MIDDLE OF A GAS CRISIS.
Nevermind the oil embargo started in 1973, when a republican was
president. Nevermind that Nixon took us off the Bretton Woods
standard and caused a sharp devaluation of our currency (sounds
familiar, no?). No, within minutes of assuming the presidency,
Jimmy Carter created the entire economic mess - and he also
created our current ecnomic mess. Dick Cheney can only wish he so
much power. Good job Chris.

months, and something bad happens, it's their fault. But if the
repubes are in power for 20 years and something bad happens, it's the
fault of the previous dems. Unless you can convince yourself of this
100%, there is no way to be a repube.
Besides, I have it on good authority from a FauxNews watching friend that all our financial problems are Bill Clinton's fault. What a shocker, huh?
They need to get together and decide...they also said it was acorn's fault for forcing minority bad loans and of course obama is associated with Acorn and so he caused the entire housing problem...
