Nobody has the 'nad to predict? c'mon.

I say his overall tendenx rating will improve, but not drastically (I
think he'll stay in top ten, but don't think he'll break top five).
While his per/48 numbers will drop as the rest of the league gets more
film on him and actually starts to game plan for him a little.

I think bozak is implying his numbers will go down dramatically as the
season progresses (he'll fall WAY out of the top ten?). I think he is
drawing this conclusion on a number of factors, not the least of which
will be Bynum's increased time against first tier players now that
Kwame is out.

Bryan thinks Bynum's numbers will go up dramatically? Not sure.

Those are the only two posters (bozak and bryan) who are even implying
a prediction... sack up people.

i said long ago he would be a journeyman guy in the mold of that guy
who moved around a lot (donaldson)...

i also said he wasnt a guy who would be the first pick in the draft
in his second year like management was saying...

your list shows that the center position is the weakest it has ever
been in the modern nba, and your boy the bust doesnt have the
stamina to play more than 25 minutes, yet alone against first tier
guys who suck too...

what i am really trying to figure out is, what is really different
about his game this year than last at this time???

he isnt faster, he is bigger, he isnt more explosive, and this kid
has cap teaching him... he has one of the greatest centers in the
history of the league tutoring him...

I thought he was an impressive looking project at this time last year.
He is a more impressive project now, but he is still a project - I
don't think anybody is assuming that what we currently see is what we
get with Bynum. Everybody is thinking he will still improve.

he will improve, but never to the point of being a star
which is what we were told he would be ie he wouldve
been the next number one pick in the draft...

What specifically has he improved upon from last year?

1. His size, as you state above. This has helped him to better fight
for rebounding position and gain low post position on offense.

ive seen him reach over people, i have never ever seen him
use his body to move another player out of position...

2. His footwork around the basket. Did you see the spin move he put on
Wallace? That was an impressive play. He didn't have that kind of
footwork last year. Credit Cap, here.

usually when he tries that move he runs right into
somebody and either gets called for the foul or
gets ripped because he isnt looking...

i noticed you didnt point that out... i guess it
doesnt match up with what youre thinking...

how many more times has he done that instead
of actually getting the move done???

3. More offensive moves. He doesn't have a skyhook, but he does have a
baby hook now - and he uses it.

bull***, he is shooting the same stuff
he shot last year... im beginning to think
you didnt watch him last year... same jump
hook, just shooting it more...

4. Explosiveness around the basket. You said he is not more explosive
than last year - I think this is clearly wrong. Dude is not going to
pull quarters off the top of the glass any time in his life - but he
is much more powerful in his jumping this year.

explosive... pffffffffffffftttt... tell me another joke... explosive
is the
one thing he isnt by far...

5. Passion. He shows emotion on the court now. I was kind of under the
impression that bball was just a job for him and he didn't really care
one way or the other about the game, but he's showing something
different now (he'll pump his fist after making a good play, or get
pissed when he screws up).

well, i havent seen him make the same swinging of the arms im
disgusted move as much this year...

6. Defensive improvement. His anticipation in making defensive
rotations is not very good (and we don't really know anything about
his post defense this year, do we?). But, his PnR defense around the
perimeter is *really* good - which is surprising for a guy who doesn't
seem very quick.

pnr is defensed by committing... he committs which is a good thing
but against the good teams he is going to get burnt a whole lot
on it... what happened to him when they played the spurs???

7. Rebounding - yes, he does fight for rebounds out of his zone and he
gets them.

he doesnt fight for anything...

and dude, you dont think all of caps peeps are asking him why
doesnt he shoot the skyhook???

he cant shoot it... its a shot that is shot down into the basket...
people are always talking about, why doesnt he shoot the skyhook...
he doesnt have hops... do you not remember kareem being in
dunk contests??? do you not remember in his prime that if
you blocked it, you were really guilty of goal tending because
when the ball left his hand it was already going downwards???

dude, the bust is still getting his *** thrown out of the gym
by guys 4 inches smaller than him... he cant shoot the skyhook
because he cant jump... i dont know about most people but when
i was in my early twenties i could jump out of the friggin
gym... as i got older, i got less athletic... im guessing the same
works for everybody... there isnt a period in the busts life where
he is going to be quicker than he is now...

I know there are exercises to improve quickness (Fisher and Walton
both improved their quickness after they entered the league). I don't
know that Bynum will improve his. I'm not sure that Bynum's game will
ever be one based on his athleticism (say, as Stoudemire's game is,
for instance). It will have to be one where he uses the gifts he does
have wisely (say, as Duncan does, for instance).

it cant be based on what you dont have...

His physical gifts: height, strength, wing span, great hands, body
coordination (translating into footwork), nice touch (translating into
a usable baby hook), willingness to learn-work-improve. He has a knack
for shot blocking.

then why are so many shots not blocked by him
going right at him???

YOU CAN NOT USE HIM IN A TRAPPING DEFENSE...
its not going to work, he is way to slow...

rebounding is the one good thing he can do because he is
tall and he has above average hands... but if he aint right
under the rack and the ball isnt close, have you ever seen
him fight for anything???

Yes.

when???

please, how i take apart the bynum busters, let me count
the ways...

lol...

For the record - I never said the kid would be an all star. My
position has always been that if he develops into a 13/11 guy, then he
is worth the pick.

thats what you say, thats not what lakers management
said... that isnt why they mortgaged the future on him and
wasted kobe's last two years that he will never get back...

I don't think all star caliber is out of the question, though. ($bill
is predicting 25/10 out of him... those are MVP numbers for a center).- Hide quoted text -

bill is a moronic goober who doesnt know *** about
basketball and is more worried about what is going on
with me than what is going on with the lakers...

not to mention being a bigot and a champion of
bigots...
