Less than that, if you count only the NBA, but 15 if you count all
championships in the highest level pro league of each year as I do. Not
counting 1948 is indefensible to me, it is more legit than the Bullets in
the lower quality BAA of the same year.

The NBA considers the BAA to be its immediate predecessor, so the BAA
championships are lumped together with the NBA. The Lakers did have the one
NBL championship in 1948 before the NBL merged with the BAA to form the NBA
in 1949.

There is a year between when the Lakers were among 4 teams to jump from the
NBL to the BAA but the NBL went on, following their 1948 NBL championship
with the 1949 BAA championship. The NBL folded/merge into the NBA after
failing the year without the Lakers etc gutted the interest in the league,
and the Lakers completed their first threepeat in 1950 by winning the title
of the new NBA.
