Jordan was not the only player benefited from the shorten-3.
and since you're a female, you probably never touched a basketball.
they just shortened the distance for a few inches, no big deal.
Jordan's last year as a bull, he averaged 78% from the FT line, way below
his average, maybe they extended the FT distance that year too? LOL

Jordan in his youth drove to the hoop alot, it was not until the 2nd part of
his career, when he lost his elevation, that he had to develop
a better jumpshot/fadeaway. kobe, an inferior athlete comparing to Jordan,
is modeling his game around the OLDER Jordan...
kobe is taking alot of FTs because the NBA is helping guards CHEAT. last
season, 3 guards averaged 30+ points in the same season, why? NBA knows
what sells, people like to watch small men dominating the game,
iverson/carter/kobe types are interesting to watch than shaq.

Pippen said it best, in today's rule, he would foul out in 5 minutes.

kobe's already ugly FG% would be even uglier if he were to play in the 90's,
the hardnose defense Jordan had to cope with day in and day out.



Kobe like Jordan has developed his jump shot and range over time. Jordan
was not driving so much 11 years into his career either. And Kobe takes a
lot of FTs even now as he draws fouls on a lot of jump shots.

So this year Kobe has an effective FGP of just over 50% and takes more FTs
than anyone except Wade.
Per 100 FG attempts he produces only 4 less points than Shaq and his 58%
FGs.
