OK, I give up.
Who is an attractive talent that you, let's say, a general manager in
the NBA is willing to trade for?
Outside Kobe and Lamar?
Only Bynum and Farmar stand out for their potential, and Turiaf for the
energy he brings to the team.
Okay well, you named three -- though Bynum doesn't count because he's
untouchable. Farmar and Turiaf both have value, especially on rookie
contracts. I don't think Turiaf is viewed as an "energy" player, either.
He's got real game, on both ends.
He is a good player, but nothing that a general manager in the NBA would
seek a trade for.
To my knowledge, none of the above is tradable in the Lakers eyes,Smush is not someone a GM would trade "for," but he's very tradeable in
except Turiaf and Farmar, and that is not that much that you can work
on.
a package because he's expiring (though that's offset by his low pay)
and because he produces and does it fairly consistently.
For what he is paid, he is bargain, I agree.
He is also an upgrade over that mess called Chucky Atkins, but that
doesn't help the Lakers.
The story continues since Jerry West left, the Lakers are getting killed
in the point guard match ups and rebounds, with the lack of a reliable
power forward.
Lamar filled that spot for a while, but they need a real power forward
who can defend and rebound.
I suppose I was considering Chris Mihm because of his offensive game,
but I suppose his injury detonates his value. His only value is expiring
contract, which isn't fair for a player of his caliber. Off the topic,
but I have faith he'll come back 100%.
He has an expiring contract, that is the value in his contract.
They have around $7 million in expiring contracts and one good rookie
and one good sophomore.
That is not that much.
Even Atlanta Hawks have more talent than we do.
More tradeable talent. I wouldn't move Odom or Bynum for Johnson though,
would you? He's their best player.
No, but if somehow that trade involved Josh Smith and Joe Johnson, I
would consider some package, assuming that Atlanta is willing to pull
the trigger on that package, which I don't expect them to do.
Even our small forwards are soft and don't defend.
We need a perimeter/ on the ball defender to take the defensive load off
Kobe to let him focus on offense, instead of wasting his energy guarding
opposing players.
