Israel did lose a lot for a country with only 3 million people in the
Yom Kippur war, they were NOT survivable losses if it weren't for
Operation Nickel Grass by the US.
Is that what Israel really says, that Israel did it all on its own and
that the American Operation Nickel Grass wasn't the MAIN factor in
Israel surviving?
I can't believe how Israel can be that ungrateful as to not even admit
that Operation Nickel Grass was the MAIN factor in Israel surviving
the Yom Kippur War.
Syria and Egypt were nothing, if it weren't for the US flexing its
Nuclear Muscle during the Yom Kippur War, The Soviet Union would have
come in there and squashed Israel like a bug.
Israel owes more to the US and its people than ANY COUNTRY has EVER
owed any other country in the HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE.
What the Kuwaitis owe to the US is even small(the Kuwaities owe their
very lives to the US) compared to what Israel owes to the US.
Here's a good article on how Israel was beaten within an inch of its
life before The Good Old USA Came in with Operation Nickel Grass and
saved the day for Israel just like the US always does for Kuwait,
Europe, etc, etc all the time.

It's one thing for China or Russia to not be grateful to the US, but
when a country that owes EVERTHING to the USA like Kuwait or Israel
isn't grateful, then that's just really pathetic on their part.
One other thing that the Yom Kippur war demonstrated was just how good
the newest Soviet Sams were.
The Soviet SA-6 Sams made MINCEMEAT out of the IAF.
The SA-6 has caused more harm to the IAF than any weapons system ever
made.
The IAF just couldn't do anything against it in the early to mid 70s.
Israeli ground forces had to take them out because the IAF was afraid
to take the SA-6 Sams head on.
In fact, the vast majority of Egypt's SA-6 Sam Network stayed INTACT
even at the end of the war because Israeli Pilots were scared to death
of the Soviet SAMS.
Sure IAF pilots could easily take out old SA-6 sams now, but if they
try and go against the latest Russian Air Defense Systems, then
they'll meet the same fate that the IAF did against SA-6 Sams in the
Yom Kippur War.
It's not surprising that the IAF had that experience against Soviet
Sams, since the Soviet/Russian sams are the best in the world, they're
even better than what us Americans have.
For Example, the Russian S-300 is the best currently operational ABM
system on earth and is superior to the American Patriot systems or the
Israeli Arrow-2. The whole reason that the US even developed the F-117
Nighthawk and the B-2 was because the Soviet Air Defense System was
just too good so the US had to solve this seemingly unsolvable problem
somehow.
The US knew that the Soviets would easily shoot down B-52s or any
other long range bombers or fighters, so they had to find a solution
to this problem, and that's how stealth aircraft were invented.
I think the US should work with Russia on a joint AMB system since
nobody has more experience and nobody has better Air Defense(including
ballistic missile defense) systems on earth than Russia does.
