The guy got lucky and the Mets will still lose out on the playoffs. Our
kids are just that, kids but they have a bright future and Brian Cashman
was smart not to mortgage the future for one season.
With Melky and Ian and Hughes the Yanks will regroup and take the title
next year.
If those Twins were so smart they would have kept Santana and already
have made the playoffs instead they like the Mets are struggling to get
in.
We got the best gm. Resign Cashman now.
Don't be stupid. Cashman was banking on a decent season from
somebody, not a complete nightmare. Had Cashman guessed that Hughes
and Kennedy would win a total of ZERO games in 2008, I don't think
that there's much doubt that he would have pulled the trigger on
obtaining Johan Santana. After missing most of two seasons, Hughes is
way too injury-prone for anyone to think he's our "future".
