What is Betemit going to be, then? Unless there is a plan to have Betemit play a lot of first base....though I haven't heard anything about Betemit playing first in any fall or winter leagues.
I forgot about Betemit. Still, I stand by the idea that Loretta is no everyday player, but well qualified as a utility infielder. I don't think there is any chance the Yankees are looking at him as an everyday second baseman. Though, you are right, I don't see the need with Betemit on the team.
But you missed the most important part. He has pitched an inning. We need middle relief.
