Maybe Gagne is heading to Fenway...I doubt Gagne would rate class A
rating as a FA since he didn't pitch much in the last three seasons.
Murphy and Gabbard are better than a 2 round pick. Still, there's an
opportunity here as it won't take that much to exceed this package if
Cashman chooses to do so. It won't require Horne or Marquez as
Gabbard isn't much of a prospect and Murphy is generally seen as a 4th
OF at this point in terms of ceiling.

The Yankees have traded RHP Scott Proctor to the Dodgers for IF Wilson
Betemit.
But unless something changes in the next few hours, they won't be
getting Eric Gagne. Brian Cashman is holding on to Alan Horne and the
rest of his upper-level prospects. Boston is reportedly willing to
trade OF David Murphy and RHP Kason Gabbard.
The Cubs also are involved. If financial matters can be worked out,
Gagne could end up in Boston or Chicago.
It also sounds like Edwar Ramirez could be on the way back at the
expense of Brian Bruney. If not today, then soon.
