Do MLB Umpires Work Both Leagues???

Was watching a National League game on TV the other day (either the
Mets or Braves) and could have sworn Joe West was working the game at
1B......wasn't he the same umpire who blew the steal call at 2B v.
Seattle earlier this month?....my question is: do umpires work both
leagues...if so, how long has this been going on....no, it was not an
interleague game I was watching. Am I mistaken? Thanks
