So, if you are indicating the ball is 'mine', or I got it is OK? Even
if it causes a Cameron-Beltran type collision?
How would it cause a collision? If I hear "I Got It!", I am more
likely to move away from the ball - not towards the person who yelled
I got it.
What does Cameron-Beltran have to do with it? That really doesn't
make sense to me; that's two fielders going as hard after the ball as
possible, and colliding. It happens. It has nothing to do with
someone yelling "I Got It!" If a baserunner yelled "I Got It!" as
they were plowing towards the ball, it's more likely one of them would
have hesitated before they collided.
I think what arod did is dangerous because the next time one of his team
mates calls him off a ball and they smack heads this is OK because Arod
wears pinstrips and they needed a win?
This doesn't make sense.
So, Drilling him in the head so
hard he never plays again might help any team in their division win lots
of games. I think you need to follow this through to it's logical
conclusion.
Drilling him in the head is an intent to injure. This was not.
