Actually if someone said that about Jeter it would be true because
he's earned that reputation through demonstrated achievement

Do you have statistics to back up your "demonstrated achievement" claim?
These statistics would preferably show that Jeter hits significantly better
in 'clutch' situations than ARod, both this year and for their careers.

Its anecdote. Jeter has had a number of big hits in big games. He's
also played in dozens more big games than Rodriguez. The average fan
remembers anecdotes. Its the cause of the hypocrisy. I just find it
amusing that if Jeter had hit the HR - and you know this is true - we'd
hear about what a "gamer" he is and how he "never quits". Rodriguez
hits it and somehow its used against him. To call it silly would be
kind.

There are 63 major leaguers that have had 25 or more at bats with a
runner on third and less than two outs...where does A-Rod rank? Take a
guess.....

I'll pass, thanks, as tempting as this kind of a guessing game is.

62.

As if we're supposed to attach any particular significance to this
other that he's performed poorly in one specific situation. Here's
another one:

There are 81 players in MLB with enough plate appearances so far to
qualify for the batting title. In terms of game-winning or go-head
RBI, where does ARod rank out of the 81? Take a gues...
