You're right. Beam was pretty good Sunday night...the HR he gave up
then didn't go quite as far as tonight's bombs.
He's a keeper, alright!
It's probably a waste of time to point out to you that he had a pretty
decent ERA prior to today's game.
His ERA was around 4.50 prior to yesterday's debacle. And he had given
up more hits than innings pitched (8 hits in 6 innings, iirc). That's
hardly promising or positive or brimming with potential. And when he
gives up hits, they're rockets. Doesn't look too different from
Proctor, actually.
6 whole innings! No kidding! That settles it, then.
Now Smith has actually looked somewhat hard to hit. His control has
been lousy, though.
And first time he gets hit hard, you'll proclaim him a stiff, too.
Yawn.
