Three RBI in 21 at bats. There have been times that would have looked
pretty good for a Yankee outfield spot.

I don't remember ever seeing Abbott bat. I once saw newsreel footage on
Pete Gray and he had a nice swing. For awhile in the Minors (even
briefly in the Majors) he was a pretty good hitter, but without the
second hand for bat speed control he couldn't deal with anything off
speed and he was eventually (almost literally) curved to death.
