Re: What relief pitcher am I thinking of

Heh, I still can't believe Jones is closing over Zumaya and Rodney. His gritty

Rodney should be closing; the Tigers don't even need Jones on the
roster, nevermind giving him an important role.

I agree. I suppose he could be their long man, but there probably is
another GM out there who thinks he can "anchor their bullpen". I think
he could anchor a buffet table pretty well.

Zumaya? I think they are just preparing him to eventually enter the
rotation.

Boy his 2005 numbers were awesome. No harm in having him set up this
year.

I'm intrigued to see Verlander tomorrow - he's not striking out many
hitters (yet), but he supposedly is quite the nasty pitcher.

The Tigers are a fun team to watch; they are what the Royals should
aspire to become. Wasn't long ago that the Tigers were the current
Royals - the difference is the Tigers were losing 100+ games with
Bonderman and Maroth gaining experience - the Royals are losing a
zillion games with major league mediocrity.

Its nice to see a competitive team playing for one of the league's
historic franchises again. I don't think they'll stay as hot as they
started, and I'm not expecting them to make the playoffs either, but
its a nice resurgence.
