Manny gets plenty of respect...but not so much that he can repeatedly
demand trades and act like a horse's ass for 3 weeks per year, like
clockwork.

My opinion? As long as he keeps hitting HR's for the Sox and driving
in 120+ runners, he can kick puppies on the way to work if he wants. I
wish he would cut the trade crap. Its almost like every year he gets
bored and has to create some kind of controversy or something.

And don't kid yourself...if Jeter pulled this crap every summer...he
would be CRUCIFIED in the NY media.

It's like the chicken and egg question. Does Manny always say he wants out
of Boston because of that attitude from fans or do the fans view him like
that because he's always saying he wants out of Boson?

Manny had unconditional love from the moment the ink was dry on his
contract. He would get killed in ANY city in the country for
repeatedly demanding a trade, and then writing it off as 'Manny being
Manny'. Especially if he was openly pining to play with the sworn
enemy, as he was a couple of years ago.
