Concerts and stuff too. I was in HS (I think) when the Pope came and me and all the other good little catholic school girls went to the Stadium to see him. It's also the first place I saw U2, Zoo Station tour. What a concert.ray o'hara wrote:
the stadium is like fenway. it has things beyond fancy concessions. you can't build history. like fenway people go to the stadium for its history. it draws people in even when the team sucks.
Yankee Stadium beyond a shadow of a doubt is the greatest sports venue of the modern era. Besides the mutlitude of World Series games and notable ones at that, there have been NFL title contests, and Boxing matches of championship class. 3 perfect games were pitched there, the First NFL game ever played into sudden death ended on that field. Ray Robinson fought Joey Maxim for what was then an unprecedented World Boxing Title. The list goes on. What a heck of a run that place has had.
