Don't get me wrong, he's a good player. He's just not a leadoff hitter, and probably not a CF either. Not to mention, his arm is as bad, if not worse, than Damon's, he doesn't take the amount of pitches that Damon does, and Damon is a much better baserunner. So when you factor in that the Yankees didn't have to give up any prospects to get him, I think that the Yanks got a much better deal than the Sox did with Crisp, even though they had to overpay by a few mil.
