All you have to do is look at his numbers from last year and his
entire career. 2004 was an aberration. It was a career year. Last
year, he sucked. There's no reason to expect a repeat of 2004.

There was no reason to sign a backup infielder at all when we already
had a major league-ready prospect we acquired in the Womack trade.
What was the point of getting Howard if we're not going to give him a
chance?
