What is your claim? Are you arguing that there is a way to determine
for sure how many times, in a given season, should have tried to sac
fly? And again, it is just one example of several indicators of "team
play," and probably not a very good one, since hitting fly balls to
the outfield isn't the most difficult thing for most MLB position
players, especially on the Mets (with several players who have the
"power" to hit long fly balls). Didn't Terry yell at these guys well
before the season ended because he thought they had given up on the
season? You can put on your "rose-colored glasses" when you watch the
Mets, but I don't do that. I "call them as I see them." And much of
what I say is consistent with what Ron Darling and Keith Hernandez
have said on their TV coverage, so why don't you stop being "lazy" and
address what they said if you don't want to pay attention to what I'm
saying? If you think that two guys who were on the 1986 Mets (and
played major roles) and a Ph.D. in history can't figure out what's
wrong with team so be it, but then perhaps you should put forth some
"credentials" if you want to be taken seriously by anyone else !
