I don't disagree completely, although you could make the argument that
offering Beltran arbitration is risky. There is also something to
trying to open up some financial flexibility, where right now none
exists.


the Mets need to plow their money into player development and not
readymade used garments at this point. Rolling Beltran into a Jason
Werth is just not that useful, IMO.
