Somehow it seems right that the Mets are emulating the Giants...
I can't tell you how excited I am. I mean, who wouldn't be stoked to add
a 35 year old catcher with a .285 OBP? Omar is finally going to get his
Molina! It only took 4 years!
We're going to stuck with this contract. And the worse part is that the
pitching coach actually believes that the problems with the pitching staff
can be fixed by aquiring Molina as a catcher...so instead of chasing good
pitching prospects, you'll get Molina instead, and I believe lose
prosepcts as well.

Molina was not offered arbitration by the Giants. Mets will not lose
prospects by signing him. But $12MM for two years, for a 35 year old
catcher who can't get On Base doesn't sound very exciting.
Met-in-PR
He's an Omar obsession, and Omar gets fixated on players and is
determined to get them. Omar doesn't tend to acknowledge that players
age and can't do what they once did until he sees it in person. He
thinks he's acquiring Bengie Molina, circa 2005.
