This was a Madoff-based move on Wagner.

I wish all my investment losses were similarly offset by much larger
profits. If the Wilpons are cutting salary in response to their
reduction in profits, they are bigger losers than their team.


If there is a lawsuit from those that lost money against those who made
money (Wilpons), then they will have to come up with bucks. So despite
the
lies coming out of Camp Wilpon, Madoff has effected their baseball
operations. And the budget will be smaller in 2010. As Mets' fans, we
have
unknowingly fallen into the hands of thieves.

From your description Pops, I guess you mean the Wilpons, who clearly
must have known they were pocketing others money.


That's correct, the Wilpons. I can't prove they had knowledge that they were
involved in the Ponzi scheme. But they did MAKE money when others lost and
lost big. They make me feel dirty just thinking about the people running
(into the ground, BTW) the team I root for.
