Compare the 2009 Mets to 2008-09 Rangers...it's comical.
Yeah, it's so obvious now. Beltran's plan, being one of the best CF in
the game with maybe 2 or 3 prime years remaining in his career, was to
fake an injury so he could sit out most of the season (in which he was
hitting .336 with a .950 OPS) trying to rehab this non-existent injury.
Paying off a few doctors to diagnose the fake injury would be easy with
his salary, right? Makes perfect sense. I was naive not to recognize
this myself.
