Despite being snakebit, the Mets are tied for the wildcard lead (in the loss column)

Met fans, as bad as we have been playing, as snake bitten as we have
been, look at the wildcard standings, in the loss column. We are tied
for the wildcard lead (in the loss column). This means we control our
own destiny. No time like the present to go on a 5 game winning streak
that would catapult us all alone into the wildcard lead. How can we
get there? We need to pickup a quality starting pitcher and a quality
bat, someone like Nick Johnson.

Hang in there Met fans. Our worst days our behind us. After all, the
