You have to act like you have been there before.
How about the Yankees after Castillo dropped the fly ball---All of 'em
on the field, jumping on A-Rod as if he had hit a grand slam to win
the World Series. ?Professional?
What's wrong with celebrating a win?
Nothing. The Yankees' over the top celebration and mobbing of ARod was
bizarre in that case, but for well-earned wins I understand it ?(This
was not one of those).
?Mets celebrated ?when the ball
went through Buckner's legs. Every last at bat win gets celebrated.
And that's exactly what K-Rod does, right? ?Throws the last
pitch--game's over--gestures to the sky.
Joba, on the other hand, goes nuts on every strikeout, and showboats
in the middle of the game, even when he has given up runs. ?For some
reason Bruney can overlook that.
I don't care what others do, I want our team to behave in a manner
which represents good sportsmanship, class and a no BS work ethic.
You know, I don't want to bring in the issue of race and culture, but
this is really what it is at work here, the issue of race and culture.
To most white anglos, they have come from a culture that values
mannerism, humility, and discipline in outward expressions. That has
been your culture from home and in the society.
In comparison the Asians and Americans with Asian descent have a
strict culture of humility and take mannerism and discipline to an
extreme. That's why in Japan when a pitcher hits a batter he needs to
take off his hat and bow to the hitter as he takes first base.
To most African Americans, Latinos, their culture value external
expression. Look at their churches and their family gatherings. It's
very outwardly expressive, and they act out how they feel what's in
their heart.
The real thing to say is not which way is "better", but as long as
they are not directly showing you up then we should all take a
breather and chill out. If K-Rod went over to the batter, gets his
hands up his nose and says "nah nah nah nah nah" then we have a
problem. But if he wants to celebrate, like Jobba does, I don't see a
problem with that.
I feel the same way about Reyes antics. What the phuq has that guy
done in his career? Lots of potential. They all have potential but
without hard work it will be wasted.
Well, if you want to be picky let me pick about you. Who the phuq are
you to act like a behavior police in this forum and trying to tell the
players what is acceptable and what is not? What has you accomplish
in real life to justify your arrogance?
See, it doesn't work does it?
