Okay, maybe this is so obvious I can't see it...

I missed the beginning of the Mets game, and turned on the radio when there were two outs in the top of the second. How was Pelfrey at bat with no runs and, apparently no hits? I gather Delgado was walked but this still just doesn't add up to me... wouldn't there have had to be other men on base?
