I can no longer stand to watch this team play with no fire, no sense
of urgency, no enthusiasm, seemingly not caring if they win or lose.

I'm sure in the minds of the player this is not the case, but clearly
something is missing with this team. There was magic in 2005, it's
completely evaporated now. There is no chemistry, no joy, no anything.
This team is just boring and frustrating to watch.

It's time for a change. Now. Don't wait any longer or this season is
over. Willie and his entire coaching staff must go. Bring in Lee
Mazilli and hire Leo Mazzone as the pitching coach. Clean house.

Now, let's see the Mets turn this around, win today, and win the
series against the Yankees. Anything short of this and it's time for a
change. They are going to lose all their fans before they have a
chance to stick their fannies in the brand new stadium.

Unfortunately this is a veteran team hand-picked by Omar & Willie and
I don't think getting rid of Willie is the cure.

The cure is re-configuring the lineup, dropping Reyes to 7th,

Brilliant, who's hitting leadoff? Church? Castillo? yeah that'll
fix the offense.

benching
Delgado,

And play who? The Mets can pull a .300 hitting 1B with power out of a
hat huh?

trading for a .300+ bat

I'm sure teams out there can't wait to dump their .300 hitters.

and perhaps shit-canning Willie.

Yes, here we agree. Not just Willie but his entire staff.

Where's Wally Backman? Bring him in.

In general baseball teams' success is determined by the level of
talent, not the manager. That's why he's called a manager - he ain't
a coach. He sits on his like the 10 million rest of us Mets fans
hoping his players perform.

Nope. Some managers can maximize a team's talents and others just
wasted a good hand of players. This is why you don't put in an
all-star team and expect to win, you still need a solid manager to
make them win.
