Listening to the daily media out here I hear a lot about Hunter and a
lot from Hunter himself, since he's a pretty entertaining interview.
Everything seems to be pointing towards him NOT returning to the
Twins, primarily because of the years he wants vs. $. At 32 he wants
1 last contract, at least 5 years. The Twins supposedly have no
desire for that length of deal.
He's been making the rounds to all the sports talk shows saying his
goodby's. But, who really knows I guess.

The key to the Twinkies future plans is what they do with Torri Hunter who
is an FA right now. If they let Hunter go, then the trade Santana who won't
stay after 2008. If they sign Hunter, expect them to make serious attempts
to sign Santana before the end of 2008 season.

Here in Twins country the local sports radio guys are discussing what,
if any, deals could be made to get some value for Santana (rather than
simply letting him go as a FA after next season).
The 3 main guys kept coming back to either Wright or Reyes plus one
high pitching prospect for Santana, who will probably want 18-20 mil
after 2008.
So, would anyone do it?
