And the other differences is that the now the Mets have the financial
resources (backed by a television network) to make the necessary changes to
win the division next year. However - the Cubs and Phillies realize their
dream chances comes along once every 20 to 30 years - so they go right back
to mediocrity the following year. I guess that's why its not so bad.

the difference is the Phillies and cubs were NOT expected to contend
in those seasons,they were just mediocre teams that were hot in the
iddle of the season'
The NY MESS were built to win it all this season
thier fans SHOULD be upset with them.
