who would you like as the next mgr?


I think the general view is that since Willie has two years left on his
contract that he will be back to start '08 as mgr - even if the worst
happens which is to miss the playoffs.


But if the team does miss the playoffs or plays poorly and is bumped in
round one I believe the clock starts on Willie's dismissal. If the
team is playing uninspired ball in midseason next year I believe he'll
be canned.


So the question is: who would you like to see as the next manager?
Answers like Lou Pinella are not too helpful since he has a job and has
said he doesn't plan to manage again after he's done with them (and
vice versa).

For me I'd be happy with Joe Girardi.

I dont think a manager is resposible for that many wins and loses.He should be able to motivate his team and I dont think Willie can do that.Throughout the season you hardly ever see any emotion out of him.Maybe a Pinella type could get more out of this underachieving team.This team should have won with a monkey managing.I think that Peterson is useless,the piching is a shambles.We knew is wasn't going to be great,but maybe a trade for younger more durable pitcher would have helped.Next season is going to go in a very different direction I hope. ...
