Mets thinking long term?

This Beltran "injury" seems suspect. The guy has been in a terrible
slump. Maybe this is just an excuse to give him some extended rest,
and show Milledge off for a potential trade?

Joe Smith as well. You can't throw an 85mph fastball in the major
leagues. Maybe he just needs time.

They still have a 4 game lead so maybe it's not such a bad idea to let
some guys recharge their batteries...
