The relief pitching "didn't match up well".
They are so frightening of saying anything negative - like "so-and-so
did a terrible job"... or "that was a terrible at-bat, play or pitch
(by a Met player)". I can't imagine what it must be like to work
under those conditions.
Always the best possible characterization, no matter how awful someone
performs.
Meanwhile, in the Bronx, you constantly hear Yankees get called on bad
play from the announcers. They practically get chewed-out by the
announcers.
I laugh when I hear someone say Sterling and Kay are "homers".
Especially when it's a Mets fan.
I'm a fan of neither team, by the way. So I have no axe to grind.
