Reyes Is Aiding Thunder to His Lightning
With the Braves completing their three-game sweep of Philadelphia on
Thursday, their home opener Friday night against the Mets, the team
that dethroned them, may seem like an early season showdown for
divisional supremacy. The Mets will start Oliver Pérez against the
left-hander Mark Redman. Tom Glavine will face John Smoltz on
Saturday, and Orlando Hernández is scheduled to pitch against Kyle
Davies in Sunday?s finale.

predictions anyone?

If either team sweeps the other, that team is likely to win the
division. I think there is something to be said for starting off 6 - 0
and getting an early 3 game lead on the competition and the
psychological advantage.
Overstated. I remember one year (Piazza era) the Mets took 4 of 6
from the Braves in April and everyone was saying how this meant the
Mets have put off the Braves for good, draw first blood, etc. Only to
watch the Braves kick ass and the Mets stumble.
Otherwise the series will just be important for the games and how
players fare under good competition -- IOW the same as all other big
games we hopefully get to see this season and post season.

A prediction can be correct or incorrect. It cannot be overstated.
BTW, the only way to prove this prediction wrong is if the series ends
in a sweep.
