From baseballlibrary.com:
"September 7, 1984: Dwight Gooden pitches a one-hitter and strikes out
11 in a 10-0 rout of the Cubs. The only hit is Keith Moreland's slow
roller in the 5th inning, which 3B Ray Knight fields but can't get out
of his glove."
I was watching this game on television, and to this day I say the play
should have been scored an error on Knight. Keith Moreland was one of
those guys whose home-to-first speed could be measured with a calendar,
not a stopwatch.
