Pedro retires after this year. He has a much as said his body can't take

coming back for the money.
He has 2 years left on his contract after this year. He could have signed a
short term deal with the Red Sox for more money if he were willing to play
only 2 years. He came to the Mets because they were the only team willing to
give him a 4 year deal. So he fights hard for the 4 year deal just to retire
after 2. That doesn't make sense. He hasn't had any arm problems this year,
it has been his legs. 100% sure he will be back next year and 90% sure he
will be back in 2008.
There is also Daisuke Matsuzaka in the free agent pool. He will likely get
the 2nd best contract after Zito.

I think there's a strong possibility that Pedro will retire. Of course,
the big benefactor will be Barry Zito. The 2007 FA list for starters is
not great. It's unlikely Jason Schimdt wants to play in NY.. Vicente
Padilla is another guy I'd seriously consider.

The rest......
Gil Meche
Jamie Moyer
Mark Mulder - Perhaps being re-united with Peterson can help him but
I didn't know Peterson was also a doctor since Mulder's problems are more
medical than mechanical.

he'd need to signed on the cheap.
Tomo Ohka
Ramon Ortiz - Maybe if they don't get Padilla.
Chan Ho Park
Pedro Astacio
Miguel Batista
Mark Buehrle
Bruce Chen
Shawn Estes
Orlando Hernandez
Jason Johnson
Byung-Hyun Kim
Cory Lidle - The Yankees will throw stupid money at him.
Ted Lilly
Greg Maddux
Jason Marquis
Andy Pettitte
Sidney Ponson
Brad Radke
Mark Redman
Woody Williams
Paul Wilson
Randy Wolf
Kerry Wood
Jeff Suppan
John Thomson
Steve Trachsel
Jeff Weaver
David Wells
Kip Wells

Mets Rotation
Zito
Padilla
Glavine
Maine
Bannister/Pelfrey

Looks better than this years!
