Why? What did he say?
He got bleeped at least twice in the early rounds of the homerun
derby. Pretty sad the network has to engage in a 7 second delay when
broadcasting a HR derby with kids watching both there in Pittsburgh
and at home.
Are you sure that they were bleeping them, or was there just a
problem with the sound? There were quite a few sound cutouts and
not just during Wright.

There were cutouts--and not just for Wright--specifically on swings that
weren't home runs. From that we can infer that the players might not
have been happy with missing, or that ESPN anticipated that they might
not have been.
It's also possible that ESPN was trigger-happy on the bleeping out of
fear of the FCC.
