I can't say, other than that there was talk of trying not to use Oliver because they wanted him for an emergency start. That, and the fact that Soler has been adjudged to have nothing in the tank and turned it around before. But ultimately, I don't know and it's not my job to say.
and b) why the Mets keep swinging at bad pitches with the bases loaded.
See above. Anyone who actually read what I wrote could not possibly have read it as a defense of the way the Mets played last night.
